This leading Financial Services company who focus on lending responsibly and providing finance to thousands of people each month are looking for a Data Governance Manager. This high profile role is remote and from the summer you will need to be in the offices once a week which is near Guildford.

As the Data Governance Manager you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the companies Data Governance Framework, specifically:

  • Clear articulation of the role and responsibilities of data owners.
  • Design and embed a consistent approach to data quality across the firm’s data assets.
  • Embed data retention policy within each functional area of the firm, with support from the DPO.
  • Collaborate with Information Security to design and execute the most appropriate data access management controls, ensuring that data is secured with appropriate controls, proportional to its sensitivity.
  • Work with data owners to ensure data adheres to regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Create a holistic view of the organization’s As-is and to-be target data landscape including identifying and facilitating the delivery of critical tactical solutions.

Providing assistance to the DPO on a wide variety of data protection and data governance related matters including:

  • Supporting the activities of the DPO as required and using expertise in the Data Protection regulations to deal with technical queries from customers, senior managers and third parties.
  • Assisting with weekly and monthly reporting in order to provide accurate MI
  • Maintaining an awareness of the Data Protection regulations, published guidance and best practices on how these regulations are interpreted by regulators and applied by business.
  • Supporting monitoring processes in the business related to Data Protection regulations and assessing the compliance of the business with the regulations.
  • Adhere to FCA Conduct Rules

Skills

  • Extensive experience of planning, developing, implementing, tracking and leading Data Governance frameworks and programs.
  • Extensive experience of Master Data Management (MDM) within a consumer driven market.
  • Extensive experience of scoping and managing advanced analytical projects. 
  • Extensive experience in working with large customer or transaction-level datasets.
  • Extensive knowledge of data compliance regulations and principles, e.g. GDPR, PCI, DPA.
