IT Support Engineer – 1st Line Support

IT Support Engineer with experience of Office 365, Windows Server, Active Directory and TCP/IP is needed for fantastic technology company going through real growth and expansion. Excellent benefits including up to 30 days holiday!

Our client is a well-established Managed Service Provider (MSP) with a dynamic, fast growing team, currently with multiple offices. The team are currently working remotely, however in the future you will need to get to the Oxfordshire office 3 days a week.

This exciting and challenging role focuses around providing exceptional IT support to business customers. The position is mainly office based with some work on customer’s sites as required.

Requirements of the IT Support Engineer:

Essential

  • An excellent telephone manner with the ability to talk to customers in plain English - breaking down technical Jargon into a language they understand
  • A minimum of one year's previous experience working on a help desk and using a ticketing system at an MSP looking after multiple clients
  • A keen interest in IT and a thirst to grow and develop your existing knowledge
  • A basic understanding of Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Fundamental TCP/IP troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 administration with a basic understanding of PowerShell.
  • Strong customer service skills

Desirable

  • 3 years plus MSP experience
  • Detailed understanding of Windows Server & Active Directory including deployment
  • Experience of Microsoft Office 365 deployment & migration
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Deploying & maintaining network infrastructure
  • Experience with Veeam Backup
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows Server Roles and Features (DNS, DHCP, RRAS, HyperV etc)
  • Basic Unix (FreeBSD / OpenBSD) experience

This role would suit someone looking for their second or third job in IT who is currently working in a challenging 1st line support role, wanting further career development. This role is predominantly a 1st line support role, however you WILL have the opportunity to do more than 1st line support and resolve an issue or ticket from start to finish. There are no shifts or weekend work required, Monday to Friday, 9am start!
